While the reaction to the first democratic debate was mixed, with many major commentators believing hillary showed the best perfomance, senator sanders seems to have outshone his competition in the second democratic debate on Saturday. A wall street journal poll reports that 44% of democrats felt that the senator won the debate, while only 32% felt the debate went better for hillary. This wide margin is rather surprising, seeing as some of the margin has to come out of hillary's own followership.

Uhhh, I have to subscribe or sign in to see the article... But if what you say is true then that's pretty good for Sanders.
ReplyDeleteYeah looks like Sanders is rising up pretty good...
ReplyDeleteHm I wonder why some of Hillary's supporters started supporting Sanders instead. He must've done a really job at the debate then.
ReplyDeleteSanders is putting up a good fight and the poles are proving it to be true.
ReplyDeleteI personally didn't watch this particular debate, but the one's that I did watch, Hillary was always doing very well. I might even go and watch this one and see how Sanders managed to outride Hillary well enough to create such a drastic margin in the percents.
ReplyDeleteHillary was doing pretty well, so I'm not so sure how Sanders was able to compete against a pretty good candidate.
ReplyDeleteSanders CRUSHED this debate. He was able to edge out victories in all of the key points brought forward aside from gun control. His voting record on gun control is not as consistent with the Democratic party as most people would like... But, aside from that, he was able to keep the debate in focus and bring all of the topics down to arguments he is strong in, such as the support of the middle class and campaign financing. There was a point in the debate where he forced Hillary into probably the biggest misstep she will see during this entire campaign. She invoked the 9/11 terrorist attacks and her assistance in New York to justify her campaign financing. She said that Wall Street stands behind her because she stood behind them during the terrorist attacks. This has already EXPLODED on twitter and will surely help out Sanders far more than her. Saying that Hillary received millions of dollars from JP Morgan because of the 9/11 attacks is more than just wrong, it is completely insensitive and out of line.
ReplyDeleteSome people are just better at wording their sentences.
